We are aware that there are major challenges within the textile and fashion industry related to the environment and sustainability. We do not believe that we will solve all of these problems, but we are convinced that small steps in the right direction, no matter what make a big difference in the long run. We at ABC-Gruppen want to lead the development of the student career industry forward, together with you, to create a reduced environmental impact of our products and our production.
We have chosen to focus on four main areas to achieve this:
When you design a student cap at ABC-Gruppen, you can read more about the different materials we use, where they are made, and how the materials producer works to reduce its environmental impact.
Look for the symbol $\nabla$ when choosing options on your student cap. To help you understand which choices have a reduced impact on the climate, we have marked these with our “Smart Climate Choice” search. See more in-depth info below.
ABC-Gruppen is part of the “Global Compact” focus on the environment, specific morality and fairness for employees and the governance of the anti-corruption. Our co-up is together with over 10,000 companies in 160 countries, affiliated with this initiative. Together we place demands on our suppliers and meet even cleaner demands.
When you order from ABC-Gruppen, you always contribute as an active road, that we climate-compensate for the delivery emissions.
In order for us to award a material the Smart Climate Choice award, the production of the materials must actively work to reduce its impact on climate and output. This must also be well-documented and verified by an independent third party. There are three different ways our suppliers have chosen to work with this:
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is an independent global certification system for textile raw, intermediate and final products. This certification means that the textile in the finished product is free from unhealthy chemicals. The certification system is proven and has existed since 1992 with the goal of developing testing criteria, limit values and test methods.
It means compensation of a share of compensating for the emissions of greenhouse gases caused by, among other things, production or transport. This is done primarily through measures to take measures in developing countries such as the expansion of renewable energy sources, tree planting and forest conservation, in order for us to approach the emission. It is required that the mass is being financed equal to a reduction in emissions that is at the same magnitude as the emissions being compensated for.
